MOSHIONS: Avant-Garde Kigali Fashion

Stepping into the fashion world in Kigali, Rwanda, was like entering a realm where creativity knows no bounds. My debut at a fashion runway show was nothing short of illuminating, thanks to the visionary Moses Turahirwa, a clothing designer whose avant-garde, experimental, and distinctly Afrik approach left me spellbound.

As luck would have it, March 13th marked the unveiling of Moses’ latest collection and his birthday, making this an evening steeped in celebration and style. His ability to infuse each piece with a unique flair resonated deeply with me, perhaps because we share the same zodiac sign – Pisces. It’s no secret that Pisceans are renowned for their creativity, and witnessing Rwanda’s ascent in the Afrik Couture Fashion world solidified this belief.
Positioned front and center in the VIP section, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of exclusivity wash over me. Channeling my inner Miranda Priestly from “The Devil Wears Prada,” I savored every sip of champagne, relishing in the opulence surrounding me. At that moment, I couldn’t help but marvel at the beautiful life I’m living here in Kigali.

Kigali exudes an infectious and intoxicating energy from the runway to the after-party. With each passing moment, the city cements its status as a burgeoning fashion capital, captivating the world with its blend of tradition and innovation. As I bask in the glamour of it all, I can’t help but eagerly anticipate what the future holds for Rwanda’s fashion scene.
So here’s to Moses Turahirwa, Kigali, and the boundless creativity that continues to thrive in this vibrant corner of the world. As the spotlight shines ever brighter on Rwanda, I count myself fortunate to witness its extraordinary journey in the realm of fashion.
