Explore the authentic tastes of Rwanda with Kigali’s first (and, surprisingly, only) dedicated food tour. Jollof’Appétit takes you on a trip through Nyamirambo, the coolest neighborhood in the city, that will be a delight for all 5 senses.
Over 3-4 hours, with 7 stops on the way, the guides take you on a leisurely stroll around Nyamirambo, introducing you to the local cuisine and culture – a mix of traditional Islamic influences fused with modern creativity. Nyamirambo is the melting pot of Kigali, also known as our very own Big Apple, the neighborhood that never sleeps.
“It was amazing, the tour guide was very friendly and explained everything very well, and gave us tips on how to enjoy the local food. Totally recommend to everyone visiting Rwanda.”
– Louis de Gonzague
You’ll stop at various different restaurants and eateries, each giving you a chance to sample something new and learn about the people who make Nyamirambo such a special place. Join the evening tour at 6.30pm, and you’ll get to see Nyamirambo come alive before your eyes, as people pile out onto the streets to enjoy tasty street food, live music, dancing, and all round good vibes.
Tour groups are kept small (max. 10 people), so you’re never crowded out and get to immerse yourself in the experience.
“My food tour was with Yves and it was amazing. All the food/drinks were tasty and flavorful. This is definitely a good tour for you to get introduced to several dishes. Yves was friendly, genuine and had a great spirit.”
